Description
This program is for elementary kids (3rd, 4th or 5th grade) who want to start coding. We meet once per week for six weeks and students create games, stories, and digital art projects. Group activities are an important part of this lab including debugging, challenges, and team up projects. Students have fun while also learning fundamental concepts like loops, conditional statements, variables, and event handling. Practice computational thinking and breaking down a problem into smaller steps to solve it.

Programming Lab:Elementary Lab
The Elementary lab is for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in technology and want to try programming and making games, stories, and digital art projects. While creating with Scratch, they are learning coding concepts including loops, conditional statements, variables, event handling, random numbers, and more. These are universal concepts and the kids will see them again as they learn additional programming languages.
In addition to individual projects, this lab includes group activities to get the students working together and helping each other out. What if there is a bug in a program? Can you fix it? What happens when you receive code from another team and have to figure it out? These activities have been an enjoyable part of our labs and are the difference between learning in class with our instructors or simply doing online tutorials.
SCRATCH
Scratch was created by MIT Media Lab and designed to be intuitive and easily learned by kids. Students drag pieces of code and snap them together like building blocks to see what happens. They actually create a game in the first lab and once this happens, they are hooked. They experience early success by manipulating code, graphics, and sounds quickly and want to keep learning.
Students share their creations online and try other shared projects. They can download interesting projects to see how they work and then modify them. With our help they can extend the projects in any number of ways.

Grades 6th - 8th
This coding class is for middle-school students who want to start learning popular languages like Python, JavaScript and Java. For both beginners and experienced students, held after-school evenings and Saturdays.

Grades 3rd - 5th
This class combines coding and electronics with a digital learning platform: the BBC Microbit, a tiny programmable computer designed to make learning easy and fun.

Grades 4th - 7th
Learning to code is an imaginative and creative activity, just like Minecraft! This class combines the Python programming language with Minecraft.

Grades 3rd - 5th
The Elementary lab is for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in technology and want to try programming and making games.

Grades 6th - 12th
Spend a week learning to code with Python, JavaScript and Java. Make games, simulations, and graphic art while practicing creativity, design, and collaboration with friends.
Tuition is $525 for the week. There is a $150 deposit to hold a seat with the remaining balance to be paid before camp starts.
